The Art Commune

WHAT ARE WE?

The name "Art Commune" represents that we are a community of artists which helps each other and works together in hopes to help benefit our environment as whole.  We started off just a group of art students attending the University of Denver, who all found themselves with artwork to sell and no where to sell it.  The Art Commune was founded to give a place for art students and independent artists to sell their work and reap their own profits without being under a company that will take a percentage or censor them. Our current cohort of artists is a really brilliant and passionate family and community, which is the foundation of what we are about.

Who are we?

Who are we?

We were once upon a time a screen-printing classroom full of broke college students, with artwork piling in our dorm rooms and no where to put it, or sell it. As an individual artist it can feel intimidating to approach the world of sales, and so we found strength in numbers and came together to help one another sell the work we've individually worked so hard on. Lead by owner and founder Syd Lee, we have eight artists currently working in our cohort and are always seeking and welcoming new members.

What do we sell?

We sell all kinds of artistic works as we try not to limit the freedom of medium for our artists, but a large portion of our merchandise tends to be clothes, jewelry, screen-prints, paintings, ceramics, and illustrations.
